  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Rainbow M&M’s
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until fully combined.
  • Stir in the M&M’s and chocolate chips (if using).
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Press a few extra M&M's on top of each dough ball for extra color.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • You can swap M&M’s for different colors to match holiday themes (red and green for Christmas, etc.).
  • Slightly underbake the cookies for a chewier texture.
