  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 12 oz lasagna noodles (broken into pieces)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions.
  • In a skillet, cook ground beef until browned, seasoning with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and Parmesan cheese.
  • Layer in a greased baking dish: broken lasagna noodles, meat sauce, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

  • Substitute ground beef with ground turkey or sausage for a different flavor.
