This Iced Cherry Chai recipe combines the warm spices of traditional chai with sweet-tart cherry juice for a vibrant and cooling drink. Ideal for summer days, it’s a flavorful and refreshing twist on a classic. Whether you’re entertaining guests or enjoying a quiet afternoon, this drink is easy to make and incredibly satisfying.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water

  • 2 black tea bags

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 23 whole cloves

  • 2 cardamom pods, crushed

  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger (or fresh slice)

  • 1/2 cup cherry juice (unsweetened or tart cherry preferred)

  • Sweetener to taste (honey, maple syrup, or sugar)

  • Ice cubes

  • Optional: fresh cherries and mint for garnish

Instructions

  • In a small pot, bring water to a boil with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and ginger.

  • Add black tea bags and let steep for 5–7 minutes.

  • Strain and let the tea cool slightly.

  • Stir in cherry juice and sweetener to taste.

  • Fill a glass with ice and pour the cherry chai mixture over it.

 

  • Garnish with fresh cherries and mint if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use tart cherry juice for a deeper, richer flavor.

  • Can be prepared ahead and stored in the fridge for 2–3 days.

  • For a creamy version, add a splash of milk or non-dairy alternative.
