Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 12 small mozzarella balls (or cut mozzarella into cubes)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Take a small amount of the meat mixture, flatten it in your hand, and place a mozzarella ball in the center. Wrap the meat around the cheese to form a ball, ensuring it's fully enclosed.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the meatballs for 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Transfer the meatballs to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over the meatballs and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until fully cooked.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley or Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Use low-moisture mozzarella to avoid excess liquid.
  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner version.
  • These meatballs can be frozen before baking for up to 3 months.
