This Easy Bang Bang Chicken recipe is a flavorful, spicy-sweet dish made with crispy chicken and a creamy chili sauce. It's quick to prepare, perfect for a weeknight dinner or party appetizer, and bursting with bold Asian-inspired flavors.

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes

  • 1 cup buttermilk (for marinating)

  • 1 cup cornstarch (for coating)

  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

For Bang Bang Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce

  • 1 tbsp Sriracha (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1 tsp rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.

  2. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat.

  3. Dredge marinated chicken in cornstarch until fully coated.

  4. Fry chicken in batches until golden and cooked through (about 4–5 minutes per batch). Drain on paper towels.

  5. In a bowl, mix all the Bang Bang sauce ingredients until smooth.

  6. Toss fried chicken in the sauce until fully coated.

  7. Serve immediately with rice, lettuce wraps, or as an appetizer.

Notes

  • You can bake or air fry the chicken for a lighter version.

  • Adjust Sriracha for more or less heat.

  • Great with shredded cabbage or lettuce wraps.
